After testing Kepa Arrizabalaga in goal for Chelsea in the last two games, Thomas Tuchel had put doubt into the minds of fans and pundits as to who his number one keeper was at the club with many thinking he had switched from Mendy to Kepa for good.
Thomas was speaking to Sky Sports after the game and Gary Neville asked him who his number 1 was in goal and Tuchel has a clear favourite and answered the question incredibly quickly.
“Edu is number 1, this is clear.”
Kepa is still out of favour at Stamford Bridge despite the blues paying €80m for the Spaniard in 2018 to bring him to England from Bilbao.
His career has been a roller-coaster since then as he had a spat with former manager Sarri and also was benched by Frank Lampard in his time at the club.
🗣 "Edouard is number 1, this is clear."

Mendy was brought to Stamford Bridge in 2020 and has replaced the record signing keeper and it is ‘clear’ Mendy will be keeping his spot as the starter. Which keeper do you think should be starting for Chelsea?
