Palmeiras star Rony has left himself red faced and football fans in fits of laughter after his horror show attempt at a Neymar/Bruno Fernandes penalty went completely wrong live on ESPN.
Who knows what the 25-year-old was thinking but The Club World Cup bronze-medal clash against Al Ahly SC was certainly not the place to reveal his new technique.
The game ended 0-0 and went to penalties and when Rony stepped up he attempted a very unusual penalty style which can only be described as a Neymar meet Bruno Fernandes type run up.
Needless to say the Palmeiras forward misses as his body language was so easy to read the keeper was practically waiting for the ball.
Rony began full of beans as he ran up to the spot before he suddenly slowed down and gradually made his way to the ball before adopting a Bruno Fernandes type jump before shooting.
Once the Brazilian pulled the trigger his shot was just awful, it didn’t have much power and certainly wasn’t tucked into any corners and the shot was saved.
