The Mayo hurler played Derry at the weekend and Mayo goalkeeper Gerald Kelly scored an outrageous point from the 13 meter line! Pure class from Mayo’s number one, Mayo won the game 0-21 to 1-16 at MacHale Park. Derry did stage a late rally to try and comeback into the game but Mayo just did enough.

Keith Higgins was top class in the forwards for the Green and Red, the former Mayo footballer and four time all-star stepped away from the football at the end of last year and is now captaining the Mayo hurlers and was a serious threat up front for Mayo against Derry at the weekend. Plenty of life left in the 35 year old yet.
Mayo will now face Roscommon in Dr Hyde Park next Saturday at 2pm.
