Gareth Bale missed from the penalty spot for Wales against Turkey… and in pretty dismal fashion.
The Welsh headed to Baku for their opening two Euro 2020 group fixtures – against Switzerland and Turkey.
Despite having gone behind against the Swiss, Wales pulled it back to draw 1-1, leaving them in need of a win tonight to virtually seal their spot in the next round.
Aaron Ramsey’s first-half goal set them on their way, with Gareth Bale’s superb pass having been chested down by the Juventus midfielder, who finished well.

After Bale was brought down inside the penalty area, Robert Page’s men were gifted a golden opportunity to go two up against the Turks and put them firmly in the driving seat.
Bale stepped up, the whole of Wales held their breath, but the Real Madrid star couldn’t execute…

You’d have bet your house on Bale missing from 12-yards in a moment so pivotal for Wales. It just goes to show that even the best in the world are human, they DO get nervous.
Bale is a world-class player, that we know, but he needs to go and work on his penalty technique…
