Andy Carroll has found the back of the net in 2021 and it has instantly made this year better than 2020. Andy hadn’t score for Newcastle since Boxing Day 2010, over 10 years of a difference between the two goals with the forward playing for both West Ham and Liverpool in the dates between. Carroll has scored a total of 33 goals for The Toon Army across the years in all competitions and has become a form of cult hero in the North East.

Sky Sports were able to produce some interesting stats for the striker with many not realising just how long it had been since his last Premier League goal. The forward has been on a dry spell of late and it’s brilliant to see the now 31 year old get his name back on the scoresheet. His strike wasn’t enough to win the game with Leicester able to hold onto the ball and keep the score at 1-2 until the ref blew the final whistle but Newcastle fans will be hoping that big Andy will get some confidence back.
