Lee Mason has stepped down from his role as a VAR official after his unbelievably bad mistake cost Arsenal against Brentford last weekend.
The Gunners got the short end of the stick against the Bees last weekend when Brentford’s late equaliser was given even though the player was in an offside position.
Questions were asked after the game as many clearly thought that VAR had got it wrong and the very next day these doubts were confirmed.
According to the PGMOL, the VAR official, Lee Mason, forgot to draw the line when investigating the offside.
Arsenal fans were outraged as it cost them two vital points in a very heated title race and all they got for their troubles was an apology.
But it has now been revealed by SportsMail that Mason has stepped down from his position by ‘mutual consent’.
