Jamie O’Hara makes explosive Eberechi Eze rant on talkSPORT as Arsenal hijack Tottenham move

Jamie O’Hara was left fuming in a furious rant live on talkSPORT after the news broke out that Arsenal have hijacked Tottenham Hotspur’s move for Crystal Palace attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze.

Tottenham needed a new attacking midfielder this summer following the unfortunate ACL tear injury to James Maddison. They have been in talks over a potential deal for Eze, and he looked all set to leave Selhurst Park to join Spurs.

However, Spurs struggled to find a swift resolution in negotiations with the Eagles, and that allowed Arsenal to make a move for the 27-year-old.

The Gunners acted quickly to finalise the deal for Eze, as Kai Havertz is set to be on the sidelines for a while, although the extent of the injury is unknown.

Sky Sports News claims that Arsenal have agreed to pay Eagles £60m plus £7.5m in add-ons for the England international.

O’Hara, former Spurs player turned football pundit, has been left stunned by Tottenham’s poor transfer dealings.

He said on talkSPORT: “I’m disappointed in Tottenham, I’m disappointed. we should have had this deal done weeks ago, we should have had it over the line and got it done.

“As soon as we started the season, we should have had Eze in the team, and do you know what, it serves us right. It serves Daniel Levy right, it serves Spurs right, it’s the same old Tottenham, it happens every single season, we’re penny-pinchers!

“It happened again, and we’re going to miss out on a top-quality player who’s proven in the Premier League. Just pay the money and get the player over the line! We got rid of [Heung-min] Son, [James] Maddison has done his ACL, we needed Eze, we needed him.

“It’s an absolute joke that we’re going to lose him to Arsenal of all teams, who are going to waltz in and pay and get it over the line in a couple of hours, it’s a joke.”
