Football legend Thierry Henry has revealed that he is quitting social media until online abuse is tackled in proportion with copyright infringement.
It’s a hot topic at current, with social media almost completely unregulated at current and users effectively able to say what they like with very little risk of there being any consequences at all.

While the freedom social media brings is without doubt one of its major selling points, it comes with its drawbacks.
As soon as people begin to misuse the ability to speak freely on social media platforms, a problem emerges, with one existing at current and little being done to tackle it.
Thierry Henry has now made his stand against it, taking to Twitter to reveal that he wants online abuse to be regulated with the same “vigour and ferocity” as copyright infringement.
Hi Guys
From tomorrow morning I will be removing myself from social media until the people in power are able to regulate their platforms with the same vigour and ferocity that they currently do when you infringe copyright…. pic.twitter.com/gXSObqo4xg

It’s a shame to see a legend of the game driven off of social media, but it’s people like Henry who need to take a stand in order for action to be forced upon the authorities.
