James McClean has spoken out against the abuse he receives on a constant bases for his personal beliefs and his nationality and the Taoiseach of Ireland and Cork man has come out in support of the Derry man.
“Well done to the family of James McClean for speaking out about years of horrific abuse they’ve suffered online”, tweeted the Taoiseach. “Social media at its best gives a voice to everyone – at its worst it is toxic and cruel.”
What is it with twitter though, the most toxic place going, it seems to bring the worst out in people. We have seen the Black Lives Matter and black players coming out in the UK not accepting the abuse they receive but maybe it’s about time we look at the people like James McClean that receive abuse for his identity.

Hopefully these big social media companies will step up the efforts in blocking out this sick, sick people.
