Kilkenny will be without Jackie Tyrrell for their All-Ireland semi-final against Waterford.
Cats boss Brian Cody has confirmed that the experienced defender has had surgery today to repair a stress fracture to his ankle.
The operation will rule him out of the game against the Deise on Sunday week.
