Galway captain Tracey Leonard said that Galway learned their lessons to overcome Mayo in the Connacht SFC Final in the LIT Gaelic Grounds in Limerick.

“We’re delighted with today’s result,” said the Player of the Match.

Speaking about the two goals she scored, she said: “It’s probably not pretty for spectators to look at but whatever gets you results at the end of the day is what matters.”

Galway manager Tim Rabbitte said: “She’s a quality player, Tracey, and she worked hard as well. I’m delighted for her, she deserves it. She puts an awful lot into it, she’s the leader of the team so when your leaders come up trumps, you’ll always be happy.”
