Scott McTominay was VERY lucky to escape with a yellow card after a horror challenge on Moisés Caicedo.
Manchester United fans will have hoped that they’d be heading into the new season without McTominay starting week-in, week-out, but their transfer window has NOT gone to plan.
The Red Devils have been pursuing Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong all summer, but have thus far been able to strike a deal to sign the Dutchman from the Catalan giants.
As a result, McTominay still has his starting spot, something that Brighton midfielder Moisés Caicedo has been left wishing wasn’t the case after being on the receiving end of a shocking challenge.
McTominay flew into a 50/50 with Caicedo and left his studs imprinted on his shin and ankle. VAR reviewed it, but the yellow card was upheld. He’s a VERY lucky boy to have got away with this…
@HACKETTREF how is that not a red card…….? Even looked at by VAR and they agreed it was a yellow. Shocking officiating. pic.twitter.com/10MQIpyNyu
