Ruben Neves missed the birth of his child to score against Arsenal

Ruben Neves had a night to remember against Arsenal as he scored a goal in Wolves’ 2-1 victory over nine man Arsenal. Not alone is it a good day for Ruben but a good week as the birth of his third child happened Saturday.

Due to recent COVID restrictions and quarantine, he was not able to be in Portugal with his wife for the birth of their son so he had to witness it during a video call while on the coach back from Crystal Palace on Saturday.

He then took his chance tonight to dedicate his goal tonight to baby Mateo by celebrating with a thumb sucking motion after his penalty against Arsenal.

When asked why he wasn’t taking time off to be with his wife his answer to WolvesTV was “It’s my job”.

That is some serious dedication that paid off for him as he proved himself against Arsenal.

Dedication like this is just what managers perform and I’m sure he’ll see his wife and child when it’s safe to do so as right now can be such a dangerous and tough time for everyone.
