Before England’s clash against Scotland, Ian Wright told ITV: “It’s a beautiful story… you can’t underestimate the journey that they’ve had to get here.”

Keane said: “This is top-level sport – I don’t know why you’re worried about friendships… it’s big boy stuff.

Wright continued: “It’s the story and they must’ve been dreaming about that when we see the pictures of them.

“Now they’re here in arguably the biggest games of their lives at this point and they’re together as two mates.”

Classic Roy Keane here, he’s right too to be fair, this is big boy stuff, no room for sentiment in top level sport.
