It’s hard to imagine Cork’s Roy Keane as anything but a hardcore Manchester United from birth, coming out of the womb with a red jersey on but he has revealed today that he wasn’t always a United fan.

He says that growing up in Ireland children usually supported ‘United, Liverpool or Celtic obviously’ but Roy wasn’t one to follow trends as he revealed on Sky Sports punditry duty today that he was a Spurs fan growing up.

He’s been quite critical of Spur today and it’s understandable why, maybe deep down the child inside him wants to see Jose Mourinho’s side do well.

This will be something that I’m sure will be thrown back in Roy’s face in the future when Tottenham and United play.

He’s not even sure why he supported Spurs growing up as Tottenham weren’t exactly a force to be reckoned with as when Roy was just 6 years old they were relegated from the English first division.
