The world number one golfer Rory McIlroy was on The Overlap this week speaking to Roy Keane, Jamie Carragher and Ian Wright.

McIlroy brought up the moment when a young Rory McIlroy tried to get the autograph of Roy Keane when he was at an Irish training camp and Roy told him ‘not today kid’

I was down at Portmarnock Links Hotel and the Irish team were staying. It was a training camp, I think. I saw one of my United heroes in the lobby, Roy Keane.

I went over and asked him for an autograph. I was 12.

He looked up at me and goes, ‘not today, kid.’
