Russian billionaire and Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has given the club the green light to sign Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland report the Daily Mail.

Haaland is arguably Europe’s most sought after player right now after bursting onto the scene after his move to Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund.

The 20-year-old has proven himself as a prolific goalscorer having scored a mouthwatering 92 goals in his first 137 senior appearances.

It’s being reported that Roman Abramovich has given Thomas Tuchel permission to spend over €100million for the youngster to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

It’s been widely reported that the Borussia Dortmund striker will be available to buy in the summer of 2022 for £65million but a new report suggests that figure isn’t quite accurate.

According to BILD, the 20-year-olds release clause fee is closer to £86.5million which would bring the value of the Norwegian over the €100million mark.

Haaland is being closely monitored by several big clubs across Europe but the youngsters pricetag may limit his choices when the time comes.

Big spenders Manchester City and Chelsea are more than willing to splash out on the striker with Roman Abramovich reportedly giving Thomas Tuchel £260million to buy new players.

The Russian billionaire has Haaland at the top of his list so the Norwegian’s transfer may turn into a bidding war between the billionaire owners of Man City and Chelsea.
