Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley II ‘BOMBS’ at the box office with major decrease in PPV sales

Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley II was talked up to be a HUGE event – but it’s reportedly ‘bombed’ in terms of cable/satellite PPV sales.

Even while Paul was staging boxing events of a lower quality than anything you’d see elsewhere, you had to tip your hat to the YouTuber purely due to the number of PPV sales he was racking up.

The HUGE audience he brought with him from YouTube immediately translated into sales at the box office, which is why he was able to attract opponents such as Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley.

However, has the bubble now burst? According to reports his latest bout with former UFC champion Woodley racked up less than 65,000 cable/satellite PPV sales.

This, of course, does not factor in streaming PPV sales, but it is a low figure for cable/satellite, lower than the first fight with Woodley and the one previous with Askren.

Perhaps fans were more looking forward to seeing him fight Tommy Fury and didn’t bother with the second Woodley fight, or the Jake Paul illusion has come crashing down.

What do you think? Is this the beginning of the end?
