“How much?” – Lawrence Okolie reveals stance over fighting YouTuber Jake Paul

Lawrence Okolie has revealed his stance over taking a fight against YouTuber Jake Paul.

Okolie won the WBO cruiserweight title via a TKO victory over Krzysztof Głowacki in March 2021. The natural next step for the Hackney-born fighter would be to look to unify.

However, Okolie was quizzed over the possibility of instead taking a money fight with YouTuber Jake Paul, which would probably be the easiest night of his career, if we’re being honest.

Quoted by talkSPORT, Okolie certainly didn’t rule out the possibility of one day taking to the ring against ‘The Problem Child’ – but he has absolutely no intention of pursuing it in the same manner that others have.

“If they came and offered it to me, it’s a different conversation [laughs].”

“I’d be lying if I didn’t say ‘how much?’ [laughs]. But, me chasing? Never in a million years. Not in this lifetime.”

It’s hard to imagine Paul being silly enough to take a fight with Okolie, regardless of whether the WBO champion would be willing to entertain the idea of fighting the social media sensation.

Paul is too clever to step through the ropes against a fighter of Okolie’s calibre. He’ll continue fighting washed-up UFC stars until people stop paying the price to watch it.
