Jose Mourinho has revealed that he made an agreement with AS Roma youngster Felix Afena-Gyan over an €800 pair of shoes.
Afena-Gyan graduated from AS Roma’s youth ranks into the first-team. He was handed his Serie A debut by Jose Mourinho, who included him among the substitutes as Roma headed to Genoa on Sunday evening.
Remarkably, the 18-year-old scored in the 82nd and 94th minute after being introduced to the action, sealing all three points for the Italian giants and keeping them in touch with the Serie A top four.
Having netted his first goal, Afena-Gyan ran over to the touchline and celebrated with manager Mourinho. The Special One revealed post-match why that was.

Mourinho might be €800 poorer after buying Afena-Gyan his dream pair of shoes, but he’ll deem that a price worth paying for a crucial three points.
He also appears to have an absolute gem on his hands, which is something you’d never find him complaining about. Have a look at how good the second goal was…

The confidence at such a young age to take on a shot like that in the dying embers of the game is commendable enough – let alone having the technique to actually find the back of the net.
Felix Afena-Gyan – remember the name!
