Jose Mourinho has followed through on his promise to buy AS Roma starlet Felix Afena-Gyan an €800 pair of shoes.
Mourinho trusted Afena-Gyan to make the difference when introduced as a substitute during Roma’s clash with Genoa on Sunday.
The scores were level when the young Ghanaian was introduced. Following a late brace, including a WONDERFUL goal from the 18-year-old, Roma took all three points.
Mourinho revealed post-match that he had promised to by Afena-Gyan his €800 dream pair of shoes, were he to get on the scoresheet during the contest.
It’s for that reason that the teenager sprinted over to his manager after finding the back of the net for the first time in the 82nd minute of the contest.

Say what you want about Mourinho, and he may well be rough around the edges, but for the most part, he comes across as a truly decent, generous bloke.
As for Afena-Gyan, you really ought to remember the name. To be so impactful at just 18-years-old is the mark of a truly special player…
