Mauricio Pochettino reveals the promise Kylian Mbappé made to him before the Barcelona game

Newly appointed PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that Kylian Mbappé made him a promise that PSG would beat Barcelona in the Camp Nou, report the Daily Mail.

Speaking during the post match press conference of PSG’s round of 16 tie with Barcelona Pochettino said: ‘He [Mbappé] asked me how many times I had won at Camp Nou? Once I answered him with Espanyol.

‘He told me that we were going to win a second time. And at the end of the match, he said to me: “Here it is, it’s a second victory.”‘

Pochettino may not get long with Mbappé because Diario Sport have reported that the France international is planning to move on in the summer of 2022.

The 22-year-old hotshot is one of the most sought after players in the world right now and should Mbappé leave when his contract is expired there will be a massive battle for his signature.

It’s clear to see why now after Mbappé destroyed European giants Barcelona in their own back yard on Tuesday evening during PSG’s 4-1 demolition of the Catalan giants.

Mbappé is said to have had developed a healthy relationship with former Real Madrid and France legend Zinedine Zidane which hints at a move to Madrid but a final decision over his future has not yet been confirmed.

If PSG do get the opportunity to eventually sell Mbappe they will demand more than the £198million they paid to sign Neymar in 2017, which remains a world-record fee report the Daily Mail.
