According to Sky Sports, Manchester City playmaker Kevin DeBruyne is set to miss out on four to six weeks of action after picking up a hamstring injury.
The Belgian maestro will be sidelined for up to a month and a half after picking up a hamstring injury during City’s Premier League clash with Aston Villa.
Kevin De Bruyne is set to be sidelined for some huge games including ties against Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal next month.
City are currently second in Premier League table, two points behind Manchester United but Per Guardiola’s men have a game in hand.
The news comes as a huge blow to city as the club and the player are currently reported to be in negotiations over the Belgian’s contract.
According to The Times Kevin De Bruyne is growing concerned over the lack of urgency with his new contract and is expected to reject City’s first offer as he feels his status as the best player in the league should be reflected in his pay.
De Bruyne still has two-and-a-half years on his current deal but the Belgian international is looking to secure a pay increase to add to his current £280,000-a-week salary.
