Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Joel Matip has torn his ACL which will likely rule him out for the rest of the season.
The Liverpool defender suffered the injury during Liverpool’s 4-3 win against Fulham on Wednesday night.
There were concerns about the extent of the knee injury with many fearing that it could potentially be an ACL rupture.
Speaking on Wednesday night, Klopp confirmed the bad news.
The estimated recovery time of an ACL injury is 9-10 months which would easily rule him out for the rest of the season.
With the 32-year-old’s contract set to expire at the end of this season, he may never play for Liverpool again.
