Liverpool are reportedly ready to go toe-to-toe with Real Madrid for the signature of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham.
Bellingham is a well-established, long-term target for Liverpool, whose midfield has been exposed as a glaring weakness in the opening stages of the campaign.
Arthur Melo’s arrival was merely a stop-gap, with Liverpool planning to address the weakness in that area as a matter of priority when next summer comes.
