Liverpool lost away to Southampton today with the final score 1-0 after former Liverpool player Danny Ings scored the winning goal. Danny managed to get the ball past Alisson in the 2′ and Liverpool were chasing the game for the other 88 minutes. Trent Alexander-Arnold had a terrible performance on top of being at fault for Ings winner but Liverpool fans are feeling incredibly hard done by with the referee. The Reds have plenty of decisions go against them tonight as a Southampton player handled the ball to stop a Gini Wijanldum assist on top of a controversial penalty call.
The controversy was that the referee didn’t award a penalty to Liverpool’s Sadio Mane as he went down inside the box and people might think it’s because Sadio tried to stay on his feet. Photos show that Kyle Walker-Peters knee goes into the back of Mane’s calf before he went down but the referee saw no problem with the challenge awarding Southampton a goal kick.

Liverpool fans believe Mane was punished for trying to play on and then collapsing as he lost his balance after the foul while other fans think he dived and it’s a hilariously late reaction. What do you think?
