Video: Liverpool denied penalty after blatant Southampton handball

Posted by

Liverpool fans will be hard done by as a VAR decision has gone against them away to Southampton. Gini Wijnaldum found a chance inside the box and he took it, strike the ball towards the Southampton net but the ball was blocked by the hand of a Southampton player that wasn’t the goalkeeper. Surely with all the handballs that have been given so far this season, this looks clear and obvious for the Video Assistant Referee but unfortunately for Liverpool, the referee decided not to award a penalty.

What do you think about this? VAR is showing over and over again that it lacks consistency, should this have been a penalty or did VAR get it right?

Maybe the VAR took the distance into account but much harsher pnenalties have been given in the last two seasons and all fans ask for is a little consistency, that’s all.
