One of the Best Referee’s in the Country Believes Gillane Should Have Seen a Straight Red

The Offaly native and former inter-county hurling referee Brian Gavin said he “definitely would have” shown Gillane a red card. It’s an incident that has a lot of people talking after the Limerick vs Tipperary game at the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick. Brian Gavin said in his piece in The Examiner;

“I understand that people believe it to be a 50-50 decision but the main problem I have with his foul was that he was pulling in the direction away from the Tipperary goal initially with two hands on the hurl. He went in with intent,” said Gavin.

  1. Brian Gavin, never one of the best referee’s in the country, full of himself. Loved to be the centre of attention. Two of the best players in the game, both said yellow card was the right call. The ball was there to be pulled on. Time for Mr Gavin to dissappear, for good. A failed has been as a ref, still trying to grab all the attention. Take up tiddlywinks, ffs.
