Josh Rock involved in latest darts fartgate controversy

For the third time in the past 12 months, a darts player has been involved in a “fartgate” scandal.

Last month, James Wade left Peter “snakebite” Wright in shock when he farted in front of him during Event 17 of the Players’ Championship on Tuesday.

This time, Wade is not the culprit.

Rob Cross and Josh Rock were facing off in the quarter-finals of the Players Championship 20 on Tuesday, when the farting incident happened.

When it was Cross’ turn to step up the oche, he noticed a foul smell.

Rocky smirked: “Did you do what I thought you did?”

And Rock sheepishly responded: “Yes…”

The video quickly became viral on social media.

Wade has twice been at the centre of fartgate scandals, but this time he will be relieved that he is not at the centre of controversy.

Darts star Dimitri van den Bergh opened up on a small trick he uses to deal with players tooting the oche last month.

He told talkSPORT: “I hate that. I make sure whatever I could do, it happened already at the toilet. Sometimes you’ve just got to accept it, at the end of the day, it’s only a smell. Breathe quicker and it’s gone.”
