Peter “snakebite” Wright was left in shock when James Wade farted in front of him during Event 17 of the Players’ Championship on Tuesday.
Wade won the match, beating his opponent 6-5 in Leicester on Tuesday, but the real talking point was when he let rip with a fart at the oche during his match.

Wright was taken aback, and he moved away. He appeared confused initially before realising what had actually happened.
Everyone saw the funny side of it, and as Wade went to collect his darts from the board, he quipped: “It slipped out. Give it a second.”
The laughter didn’t last long, and soon they focused on the game. The referee, Owen Binks, had to remind the players that the match was being live-streamed, commenting: “Oh boy, okay then… This is a streamed match, guys.”
However, Wright believed the smell needed more time to settle and stayed away from the oche.
Wade said, “Go ahead. Do you want nine more arrows?”
However, this is not the first time Wade has been caught dropping a pungent bomb.
Back in September 2024, when taking part in a Players’ Championship match, a sound came from Wade’s direction, and many believed that he farted during a Players Championship loss to Callan Rydz.
The 42-year-old later stated: “I feel I must address a situation following my run to the semi-finals of PC22 today. Footage has emerged of me doing what appears to be a ‘shart’ at the end of one of my matches.”
He clarified: “It was actually the velcro on my new trainers. I now consider this matter put to bed as I don’t wish to talk about it again.”
