Irish UFC fighter Joseph Duffy will take on the highly rated Dustin ‘The Diamond’ Poirier in Dublin in October.
Duffy appeared on TV3’s Ireland AM this morning to make the announcement.

The fight will be the headline match-up of the UFC Fight Night taking place in the 3Arena on October 24.

Donegal fighter Duffy made his UFC just four months ago, and has won two fights from two so far – a knockout of Jake Lindsey at UFC 185 in his debut and a choke of Ivan Jorge at UFC Fight Night Glasgow earlier this month.
Fellow Irish fighters Cathal Pendred and Paddy Holohan are also expected to feature on the card.

Louisiana fighter Poirier has been with the UFC since it merged with World Extreme Cagefighting in 2010 – and has 10 wins from 13 fights. His most recent loss was in September 2014 when he was defeated by Conor McGregor at UFC178 in Las Vegas.
