There was a heated moment during England’s game v Slovenia tonight and it appeared it was Jesse Lingered standing up for his mate is why it kicked off.
A Slovenia player clearly grabbed Marcus Rashford by the neck and Lingered was quick to respond and defend his Manchester United team mate.
Nobody is condoning violent behaviour but it is a breath of fresh air to see players willing to stand up for one of his teams younger players.
