Jamie Carragher was not impressed by the performance of the Manchester United star on Saturday night.
The Red Devils were comprehensively beaten by Newcastle by one goal to nil at St. James’ Park late Saturday evening.
Many of Erik ten Hag’s players have come under criticism but none more than Marcus Rashford who was hooked off on the hour mark.
Speaking on Sky Sports after Manchester City’s draw with Tottenham, Carragher questioned his leadership after a poor performance.
‘It looks like big problems. I can’t actually believe where Man Untied are in the table,’ he said.
‘Watching Marcus Rashford last night that was an unacceptable performance for a few reasons.
‘That lad didn’t play midweek in the Champions League, but I have been a local player and it’s not easy especially when the team is not doing well.
‘For Rashford and myself and Gerrard at Liverpool it’s your job to fix it and drag others up with you,’
“As a local player it’s your job to drag those other players up.”
