Jake Paul discusses his strengths and predicts ‘very short night’ for upcoming opponent Tyron Woodley

YouTube boxer Jake Paul has described himself as ‘built different’ ahead of his upcoming bout with Tyron Woodley.

Paul, 3-0, has had a professional boxing career to date like no other. The Ohio-born YouTube star defeated fellow social media sensation AnEsonGib, former NBA player Nate Robinson and UFC grappler Ben Askren. It’s a bizarre record, that’s for sure.

Next up is former UFC champion Tyron Woodley, who will be Paul’s toughest opponent to date, but one that he feels he will have little problem defeating, as he revealed during an interview with Sky Sports.

“I’m just built different. I have something inside of me that I think is just a natural born fighter, with natural power. You can teach a lot of things, but you can’t teach speed and you can’t teach power.”

“I think that’s why my fights have ended so early. When those 10oz Grant gloves come on, I just grip them back, and the knuckles are at the front of the gloves. There’s no way these people’s heads can deal with this damage.”

“Honestly after this camp, I said three [rounds] and now I’m thinking, max two. But to be honest, something in my heart tells me that it’s going to be another one round fight.”

“As crazy as that sounds. I think it’s going to be a very short night for Tyron.”

BenchWamers’ view

There’s a renewed degree of excitement and freshness about boxing, one which the old-school, hardcore fans are finding it difficult to embrace.

There is somewhat of a circus surrounding the Paul brothers, but you can’t fault their commitment to the sport or the numbers that they’re pulling in.

If Jake Paul manages to defeat Woodley and move onto bigger and better things in his boxing career, you can only give him credit for it.
