Jake Paul speaks out on allegations he includes ‘no-knockout’ clauses in fight contracts

YouTube boxer Jake Paul has rubbished claims that he includes no-knockout clauses in his fight contracts.

Paul defeated former UFC champion Tyron Woodley in his last professional bout. The social media sensation was a worthy winner, but Woodley passed up the opportunity to finish Paul after wobbling him against the ropes.

After Woodley sent his opponent stumbling but opted against seizing the opportunity to finish him, there were those in wake of the fight who questioned whether he was actually allowed to.

Dillon Danis and Claressa Shields have both accused Paul of including no-knockout clauses in his fight contracts, but the fighter himself is outraged by the allegations made against him.

He’s quoted by the Mirror saying, “It’s a bunch of losers trying to make s*** up. They want to get into headlines and get reporters to ask them about that exact question and put their name into the mix so that they can get a little bit of clout.”

“Having a no knockout clause in a contract, I’ve never heard of that, and first of all that’s highly illegal. I’d be in jail! That’s rigging a fight, I would literally be in prison if that were actually a real thing.”

“It’s all nonsense, bulls*** and they got exactly what they wanted out of it which is to have people mention their name.”

You do get the impression that those pitted against Paul will say whatever it takes to discredit him. The idea of him including such clauses in the fight contract is rather farfetched.

The Fury clan would certainly not take a fight with a clause of that nature written into the fine print. This matter has already been put to bed, regardless of what Danis and Shields have said.
