Jake Paul comments on allegations of “highly illegal” clauses in fight contracts

Jake Paul has once again hit out at claims that he includes any sort of illegal ‘no knockout’ clauses in his fight contracts.

Speculation over the nature of Paul’s fight contracts intensified after Dillon Danis claimed that there was a so-called ‘no knockout’ clause written into the fine print of his bout with Tyron Woodley.

Paul has refuted those claims, and in truth, Danis is hardly a reliable source.

The YouTuber’s belief is that people are making up lies in order to damage his credibility. Judging by the comments section of our ‘Ultimate Fight Corner‘ Facebook page, they’ve succeeded.

Here’s what Paul’s had to say on the matter while conducting media interviews ahead of his bout with Tommy Fury, as quoted by The Sun, “Yeah, I mean first of all that’s illegal, like highly illegal.”

“Because you involve like gambling and oddsmakers and people betting on the fights and so I would be in jail if I was manipulating that much money.”

“Because it’s illegal, first and foremost. So if there was actually something in my contracts that were like, ‘Oh, you have to do this or that’, I would be in jail, first and foremost.”

“And I look at it as a compliment because people just don’t want to believe my ability and I’ve knocked mostly everyone out in the first round.”

“It looks fake, but that’s just how good I am. And I beat a five-time UFC champion and of course, people are going to have excuses and they’re going to do anything they can to discredit me.”

“That’s what happens when you’re No1.”

We know for certain that John Fury was a part of the negotiations between Jake’s team and Tommy’s, he’s revealed it himself. There’s no way in hell he’d allow a ‘no knockout’ clause in that deal.

People like to use the Woodley bout as evidence that such clauses exist, but they fail to acknowledge that the former UFC champion landed one of his famous right-hands on his opponent.

Paul could’ve been slept there and then. There’s quite clearly nothing illegal going on here.
