Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish has made a large donation to cover the cost of a funeral for a young Villa fan who sadly passed away in a car crash last weekend.

Eighteen year old, Mia Craen, was killed last Saturday when her car hit a tree while she was driving to her new family home in Horsham, West Sussex.

Grealish spotted messages on social media with news of Mia’s death and the England international responded by donating £2,000 towards her funeral costs.

Mia’s friend, Rosie Fletcher took to Instagram to try and make Aston Villa and Jack Grealish aware of the incident in a bid to hopefully get them involved somehow

In her post Fletcher wrote: “Given that she was a huge @avfcofficial and @jackgrealish fan, we would like to get recognition for Mia and the amazing person she was.”

Grealish responded by sharing the post to his 1.4million followers in his Insta Stories with the caption: “R.I.P Mia. Sending my deepest condolences to your family and friends. Please click the link in this bio and donate if possible. So sad.”

Mia’s brother, Finlay, set up a GoFundMe page that raised more than £19,000 for his sister’s funeral. Finlay also received a personal message from the Villa captain after he made his £2,000 donation.
