Steven Gerrard has been filmed appearing to arrive in London amid speculation that he’s set to take the Aston Villa job.
After Dean Smith was let go by the Midlands club following a string of disappointing results, Gerrard quickly emerged as the frontrunner to replace him.
Villa reporter Ashley Preece has taken to Twitter to claim that the deal could be signed and sealed within 48 hours. Gerrard appears to be on the verge of returning to the Premier League.

A video has now emerged of Gerrard supposedly arriving in London this afternoon. Though Villa are (obviously) not based in the capital, several of their high-ranking officials are.
Besides, it’s probably a good idea to run away from Glasgow if he really is set to leave…

It doesn’t look particularly promising for Rangers fans, who appear set to lose the manager who has taken them back to the summit in Scotland, as well as challenging in Europe.
