Awful New Coming Out of Abbeyside Camogie in Waterford in the Past 48 hours

This is just awful to hear the passing of Abbeyside’s young camogie player Shauna McGrath who was in a car crash on the N25 while coming home from work. Shauna was a midwife and was driving home from nightshift, she was only 22 years of age.

Shauna McGrath passed away when the car she was driving collided with a lorry on the N25 road at Kilmacthomas, around 8.30am on Tuesday.

She was only 15 minutes away from her home in Dungarvan when the accident happened. She died at the scene.

The club camogie account read out a statement that said

It is with profound sadness and disbelief that we learned yesterday of the passing of one of our own Abbeyside camogie players, a beautiful, talented young girl taken from us too soon.
Shauna… teammate, friend, girlfriend, daughter, sister, may you rest in peace in the arms of the angels.
Our deepest condolences to Shaunas mum and our chairperson Eleanor, Dad Hiker and sister Cadhla, her boyfriend Liam, her extended family, friends and teammates.
