Francis Ngannou very nearly pulled off the biggest sporting upset in many years.
The MMA fighter was making his professional boxing debut against Tyson Fury and was a huge underdog with many ‘experts’ labelling the fight as a complete mismatch.
But, to his credit he managed to drop the ‘Gypsy King’ and only lost via a narrow split-decision verdict.

Speaking to Club Shay Shay on the knockdown, he said: “It wasn’t a strong punch, so I know that he’s gonna get up. It was a punch that hit his shoulder first before it his temple.
“Everyone will go down. Everyone will go down with a clean shot.”
On his future plans he revealed he wants another crack at Fury who he believes is now the ‘challenger’.
He continued: “Right now I want the rematch with Tyson (Fury). This fight built a lot of confidence in me, but also I think he took me a little lightly so he might come next time heavy. I want to feel it. I want the rematch.”
“I’m definitely gonna be prepared more. Put more work in. I was there and I know that I won. Even though they gave him a victory, he’s coming now as a challenger. He’s coming now to restore his reputation.”
First up for Tyson Fury is a huge undisputed clash with unified Ukrainian heavyweight champion, Oleksandr Usyk on February 17th in Saudi Arabia.
