West Brom took an early lead against Manchester United today, scoring after just 90 seconds thanks to a header from new striker Mbaye Diagne who is on loan from Galatasaray.
What seems like a good well worked goal as he outmuscles Victor Lindelöf but on closer inspection, Manchester United fans are absolutely fuming as the replay shows Diagne clearly blocking Lindelöf’s eyes and putting his hands all over the United defender’s face.
There seemed to be nothing Victor could do and Manchester United fans are furious. How has VAR not looked at this and disallowed it? Do you think it’s a fair goal and he’s just battling for the ball or is it a foul?
How was that not a foul?? Diagne had his face all over Lindelof.. if Maguire’s was a foul, then this is a red card!

Diagne puts the Baggies ahead within the first 90 seconds. In the words of @gnev2 he 'mauls' Lindelof! Foul??????

Diagne literally has his hands covering Lindelof’s face as the ball came in.. yet it wasn’t a foul 👀👀 VAR didn’t even check it 😪

I didn’t think their goal was a foul seeing it the first time but Diagne clearly has his hand over Lindelof’s eyes before he even makes contact with the ball. pic.twitter.com/7estWAAGww

Can Manchester United bring this back to secure three points against 19th place West Brom in their title race or will Big Sam’s side be able to hold out?
If Sam can get three points then it will do wonders in their search for Premier League football next season.
