The Cork manager and his players made the decision to call off their homecoming at Páirc Uí Chaoimh this evening, a tough decision for everyone involved, but probably the right call.
This Cork team owns no one nothing and are fully entitled to make the decision.

Feel for them all today. Totally understand why they did this. Let them find a quiet pub and be with each other away from the maddening crowd . The pain is acute as it is long lasting.
Sense prevails. And to anyone slagging off players or management I would like to remind you that its not a very well paid job. Most will be back to work by the end of the week and as for the cost and hardship you went through its only 1% of what all those lads put in.
They gave us a great year in fairness , disappointing yesterday but thats sport unfortunately. Few days on the lash with each other, back to the clubs and go again next year.

They really should meet their supporters win our lose ; it’s not a very nice thing to turn your back on your supporters now at this time
Player revolution no2. Didn’t help Cork last time can see little value in the players and management denying their supporters this little bit of Joy at the homecoming. Could never see this happening in Kilkenny.Limerick could of. Done the same in 2997 but didn’t and came back to win 4 in a row
I understand how devastating it must be for players and management but that’s sport! There has to be a losing team. It’s not great example for young supporters that their heroes aren’t magnanimous in defeat, however tough. A open-topped bus down Patrick St and the Mall could have been a quick way to see the fans and allow those who couldn’t get to Croke Park to thank their team. Lots of people couldn’t afford the cost of going to Croke Park to see them.
Huge thanks to all on the team, management, at county and club level for the massive time and energy involved throughout the year. Looking forward to next season – onwards and upwards.
They didn’t turn up for the second half either. Poor decision.
A kick in the teeth for the thousands of supporters who piled into Croke Pairc in their red jersreys, and lets not forget they were the majority of the crowd as remarked on the RTE coverage. There’s an ad running on TV about young people dropping out of sport, and why not. Cork GAA have shown that it’s only winning that counts, and of course that means once the panel is full the rest can stay at home. And if they lose even the panel “finds a quiet pub to sob in”… It’s not the Corinthian spirit is it lads?
