Thiago Silva’s wife has taken to Twitter to reveal that the Chelsea defender has tested negative for COVID-19.

Chelsea were rocked ahead of their Carabao Cup semi-final first-leg clash with Tottenham after it emerged that both Silva and N’Golo Kante had tested positive for the virus.

Out of every player in his squad, you imagine they would have been the last two Thomas Tuchel would want to lose ahead of a game of that magnitude.

Thankfully from his perspective, a depleted Chelsea side managed to get the job done anyway.

Still, with a second tussle with Tottenham and a crucial visit to the Etihad on the horizon, Tuchel will be eager to draft both players back into training at the earliest possible opportunity.

He has been delivered some good news on that front via Thiago Silva’s wife, who took to Twitter to reveal that the Brazilian veteran has tested negative after taking a lateral flow test.

Silva will be free to rejoin Chelsea training early next week, should there be no further positive tests returned, and will be available for selection once again, which is a HUGE boost for the Blues.
