Kai Havertz had the best chance of the first half when he lifted the ball over the keeper but could only watch as it bounced off the post.

It was a disappointing home start for Mudryk who was hooked off at half-time after a quiet forty-five minutes.

Chelsea made a host of changes in the second half and it was one of the substitutes, David Fofana who almost scored after a Bernd Leno mistake.

After a frantic end, the game finished nil all as Potter’s new signings couldn’t make the difference.
