Chelsea’s squad are in Abu Dhabi for the Club World Cup, with fans growing concerned after videos of explosions were circulated on social media.
The Blues are competing in the Club World Cup in the Middle East, having been victorious in the 2021 edition of the Champions League.
Chelsea are the overwhelming favourites to win the competition, but they were back in 2012 and were defeated by Corinthians in the final.
Cesar Azpilicueta, the club captain who was in that squad, will be keen to ensure that they take nothing for granted this time around.
They could have off-the-pitch distractions to contend with, though, after a video went viral on Tuesday evening showing an explosion in Abu Dhabi.

As is reported by the Daily Mail, the US Embassy initially warned that there were rocket attacks which their citizens needed to be wary of.
It was later clarified to be merely a gas explosion. Though, it’s up to you whether you believe that or will take it with a pinch of salt.
Thankfully, there does not appear to be any imminent threat to the Chelsea players or supporters – but they’ll be keeping their eyes peeled, for sure…
