Brighton player EMBARRASES himself with awful dive in League Cup match

Footballers can make fools of themselves during matches and Brighton’s Pervis Estupianian was caught red handed in his side’s loss to Charlton Athletic.

In the second half of the game, Estupinan challenged for the ball with Charlton’s Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, with the former going to ground to make a challenge and Estupinan threw himself to the floor in search of a penalty.

The defender was unsuccessful in his hunt for a spotkick and somehow didn’t get booked for his actions, with the match eventually going to penalties after the game ended 0-0 in normal time.

The two teams both missed their first penalties, before Charlton scored through Jake Forster Caskey.

Leandro Trossard missed a second Brighton attempt and a few strikes later, with the score 3-3, Moises Caicedo missed his penalty, with Samuel Lavelle stepping up to send Jason Steele the wrong way to send Carlton through to the quarter-finals, where they will face Manchester United.

Of course, the fans won’t forget Estupinan’s dive in a hurry with the EFL surely set to issue a retrospective ban for his actions.
