Barry Hearn has announced he will be arrested, put in police van and taken to court’ today but it is all for a good cause.
Hearn is the founder and President of Matchroom Sports, but has handed much of the day-to-day running of things to his son Eddie.
Admittedly he still helps out but in an advisory role but with more time on his hands these days he is currently doing some charity work.

Hearn’s JustGiving page explains more about the cause he raising cash for. It read: “Jessie May Children’s Hospice at Home is a charity that provides exceptional palliative care and support to children with life-limiting conditions, and their families, in their own homes.
“Over the last decade, more and more children have been referred to Jessie May than ever before.
“Their medical needs have become ever more complex and as a result, the clinical care Jessie May nurses provide is becoming more specialist, especially at end-of-life.
“Today our team of nurses delivering care in the home stands at 16, to fund just 1 of them costs from £41,000.
“From diagnosis, throughout life, at the end of life and in bereavement – we are there.”
At the time of writing Hearn had already raised 20k for the charity.
