Barca announced in the 2019-20 season that it expected to be the first club to have an income of over £1 billion but that all went south as a direct result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Following the impact of Covid-19 the Catalans had a loss of almost $100 million for the 2019-20 season and there are concerns that this season could be far worse.

According to La Vanguardia, that $100 million will be added to the total net debt of €500 million the club already has plus an additional deficit of €400 million.

Barcelona’s next president will have to treat the situation as a matter of priority with €420 million of their debt owed in the next 12 months.
