“We can talk about Mbappe, I was at his home when he was undecided whether to extend his contract with Monaco,” Wenger told beIN Sports.

“He could have come to Arsenal for free. I would say every club is full of histories like that.

“You go to Milan, to Manchester, Arsenal, Chelsea there are these kind of stories everywhere.”

Mbappé could still end up in the Premier League after he revealed he will be leaving PSG at the end of his contract next summer.

The PSG and France striker has decided to spend one more season at PSG and leave when his contract expires in 2022 according to the Diario Sport.

The 22-year-old hotshot is one of the most sought after players in the world right now and should Mbappé leave when his contract is expired there will be a massive battle for his signature.

Were Mbappé to leave this summer his price tag would be well over the £150 million mark so PSG may feel a bit hard done by having to let him go for free in 2022.

If PSG do get the opportunity to eventually sell Mbappe they will demand more than the £198million they paid to sign Neymar in 2017, which remains a world-record fee report the Daily Mail.

Mbappé is said to have had developed a healthy relationship with former Real Madrid and France legend Zinedine Zidane which hints at a move to Madrid but a final decision over his future has not yet been confirmed.
