Anthony Martial asks Manchester United to help with better security measures at his home following death threats

According to the Daily Mail, French striker Anthony Martial has asked Manchester United to help him with extra security at his home following death threats made towards him and his family.

Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Axel Tuanzebe were all targets of racist abuse following United’s 0-0 draw with Arsenal which some people believed was solely the trios fault and as a result, lost the Red Devils the league.

The Frenchman’s wife – Melanie – was also abused and she published some of the vile messages that directly threatened not only her but her husband and young kids.

The 25-year-old and his family are all said to be ‘concerned’ and ‘angered‘ following the disgusting messages.

The Red Devils are expected to inspect the security measures at Martial’s home as well as increasing the current security package.

United have refused to comment but manager Olé Gunnar Solskjaer came out public to condemn the actions of the people responsible.

“It’s just incredible that abuse like this still happens in 2021, We’ve been campaigning for a long time now in the Premier League and I think it’s working, but there are still some people that haven’t got it.

“They hide behind anonymous social media accounts and it’s unacceptable. It’s disgusting. They are not Manchester United fans in my mind, when this happens. We stand behind every single one of our players.

“It’s something you don’t expect to see but it doesn’t surprise you when it does happen from time to time. You have to feel sorry for these individuals.

“The social media platforms need to be looked at. If you can create an anonymous account and abuse people, that’s not right. We’ll work together with everyone to stop this nonsense.”
